Bush Advocate: Nail-Pulling Is "Probably" Torture

They Knew Bush Authorized "Torture"

READ (1/3): "Breaking news... the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency warned William Haynes, the top Pentagon lawyer (i.e. former General Counsel of the United States Department of Defense), the top lawyer for (the Bush administration's) then-Defense Secretary (Donald) Rumsfeld, in a memo in July 2002, classified, now part of the Levin Report and obtained today by the Washington Post, that... the efforts and means he was contemplating using, that he was getting from their program SERE (Survival Evasion Resistance Escape), were, in fact, actually, definitionally described as torture."

POINT (1/1): They knew what they did meant torture. Bush lied when he said: "We do not torture."

READ (2/3): Former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino remains a public advocate for the provably criminal Bush administration. Her awareness of and participation in unconstitutional and criminal acts by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, et al., would require her indictment for serving as either an accomplice or an accessory to war crimes, including torture.

READ (3/3): "The U.S. Navy recommended a legal and policy review of the techniques. The Air Force had 'serious concerns regarding the legality (of what) could be construed as "torture," as that crime is defined by 18 U.S.C. 2340.' (Nov. 1, 2002. USAF Memo to Joint Staff; U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee Report) The U.S. Army had 'significant legal, policy and practical concerns (with "Category III Techniques" because they) violate the President's order (on humane treatment) and various UCMJ articles (and) appear to be clear violations of the federal torture statute (Nov. 7, 2002. US Army Memo to Joint Staff; U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee Report).'"

Torture Used To "Get Evidence" Of 9/11-Saddam Link

False Confessions Probably Extracted

READ (1/1): Under the Bush administration, the United States Army and the Central Intelligence Agency tortured detainees to extract statements indicating the Government of Iraq was both involved with al Qaeda and connected to thousands of deaths on United States soil (New York, Virginia and Pennsylvania) on September 11, 2001. All written and verbal warnings against torturing prisoners were ignored.

WATCH (1/2): "Torture used to gin up link to 9/11"

LINK (1/2): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Isd3jryTR_Q

POINT (1/3): The 2003 invasion of Iraq was a deliberate act of aggression, which provoked a war of choice (i.e. aggressive war, a war of aggression), the supreme international crime.

POINT (2/3): The torture of prisoners is "cruel and unusual punishment" banned both by the Constitution of the United States of America (i.e. domestic law) and by international treaty (i.e. international law).

POINT (3/3): These two war crimes are connected. Those guilty of them are all bound to face prosecution in fair trials. All war criminals belong in jail.

Retired Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson Says Cheney "Frightens" Easily

READ (1/1): "Let's face it, for just a moment. Sri Lanka. Israel. The United Kingdom. Other countries have lived through terrorism that proportionally was worse than what we lived through. So, as you look back on it, the overreaction of these people to what happened on 9/11 - as horrible as it was - is astonishing."

Bush Had 2 Prisoners Waterboarded 263 Times

The Bush Administration Tortured One Suspect 183 Times In March 2003

READ
(1/3): "The CIA used the waterboard 'at least 83 times during August 2002' in the (torture) of (Abu) Zubaydah and 183 times during March 2003 in the (torture) of KSM (Khalid Sheikh Mohammed)."

READ (2/3): "That would average out," points out Rachel Maddow, "to six (6) times a day, every day, for thirty-one (31) days.

READ (3/3): "That revelation (...) calls into question everything we have been told about the justification for torture in the first place. Every time you hear waterboarding was used 'sparingly', think: 'six times a day, every day, for a month.' Every time you hear that it was used as a 'last resort', think: 'six times a day, every day, for a month.' Every time you hear that torture is 'effective', think to yourself: 'They (used) it on two guys 266 times? Because... what? It didn't work the first 265 times? That's how 'effective' this is?'"

WATCH (1/1): "Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Was Waterboardeded 183 Times In One Month"

LINK (1/1): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZsKhMIWWOU

POINT (1/1): America is bound to (i.e., must) prosecute all government officials, including George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, et al., responsible for the authorization of torture and commission of other war crimes.

Condoleeza Rice's "Number One" Denounces Torture

Astonishing Bush Administration Insider Perspective

READ (1/3)
:
The former counsellor at the State Department, trusted advisor and deputy to then-Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and former executive director of the 9/11 Commission, Phillip Zelikow, read the infamous (then secret) torture memoranda in 2005.

READ (2/3): Zelikow told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on April 21, 2009, "the legal reasoning seemed deeply unsound to me (...) and so I thought it was important to just say, 'Hey, there's another
view here!' (...) America has fought a number of wars in our history, including against unconventional enemies. This was an interrogation program, however, for which there is no precedent in the history of the United States. We've never done a program like this before."

READ (3/3): In a recent contribution to Foreign Policy magazine, Zelikow wrote "
the White House attempted to collect and destroy all copies of my memo."

WATCH (1/2):
"Rachel Maddow - former Rice confidant Philip Zelikow on the torture memos, part 1"

Part One: "I looked at their point of view and it didn't strike me as a mainstream or reasonable way of construing the relevant standards of treatment, of the definition of terms like 'cruel', 'inhuman' or 'degrading'. They were using an interpretation of how to comply with that standard that I didn't think any judges or lawyers outside the administration would find plausible."
